Rationale for change
With various methods of tobacco use available to patients, FA as well as AMBOSS (https://www.amboss.com/us/knowledge/esophageal-cancer) connect esophageal SCC specifically with tobacco smoking.
AMBOSS says that oral cavity cancer etiology includes "oral tobacco consumption (e.g., snuff, paan/betal quid), smoking", so AMBOSS makes a distinction between general tobacco consumption +/- smoking (oral cavity cancer) and tobacco smoking (esophageal SCC).
While a minor difference, I think that it helps clarify that certain forms of tobacco consumption may not have increased risk of esophageal SCC. Unless I'm totally off base and am reading into it.
