Rationale for change
No where (FA, AMBOSS, etc.) does it say that thrombosis of a VEIN would cause acute mesenteric ischemia. This also makes sense anatomically that a thrombus in the venous system would not cause ischemia in that tissue because it's pulling blood away from the organ, not to it. The sketchy pictures associated with this card also agree that it's most commonly the superior mesenteric ARTERY.
